Shiraz – for the body, structure, mid palate and rich fruit flavours
Petit Verdot – for the deep colour, acid, tannin and fragrance which is compelling
Viognier – is used sparingly for its addition to colour stabilisation, floral fragrance and soft effect on tannins
Stuart Olsen is a qualified scientist and teacher with almost ten years of understanding and experience in the wine industry. Broadening his experience in the industry, Stuart sharpened his style while working with other prolific wineries such as Cirillo Estate, Lowes Family Wines and Torbreck. His work has also seen him travel abroad, working with a German winery, the Rheinhessen – Jakob Neumer Weingut und Wurtz Weinmann. His work has also been influenced by his travels throughout Eastern and Western Europe.
Stuart has a great passion for regional New South Wales, where he was born and has spent much of his life. The landscape and the wine growers of the Mudgee region are a great focus for Stuart, as he sees the great potential it has for producing delicious, balanced red wines.
